ואתו כל שבטיא דישראל לות דוד לחברון ואמרו למימר הא אנא קריבך ובסרך אנחנא:
ankhna wbsrk qrybk ana ha lmymr wamrw lkhbrwn dwd lwth dyshral shbTya kl wathw
Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and spoke, saying, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

אף מאתמלי אף מדקמוהי כד הוה שאול מלכא עלנא את הויתא נפיק ועליל בריש ישראל ואמר יי לך את תפרנס ית עמי ית ישראל ואת תהוי למלכא על ישראל:
yshral el lmlka thhwy wath yshral yth emy yth thprns ath lk yy wamr yshral brysh welyl npyq hwytha ath elna mlka shawl hwh kd mdqmwhy ap mathmly ap
In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. Yahweh said to you, ‘You will be shepherd of my people Israel, and you will be prince over Israel.’”

ואתו כל סבי ישראל לות מלכא בחברון וגזר להון מלכא דוד קים בחברון קדם יי ומשחו ית דוד למהוי מלכא על ישראל:
yshral el mlka lmhwy dwd yth wmshkhw yy qdm bkhbrwn qym dwd mlka lhwn wgzr bkhbrwn mlka lwth yshral sby kl wathw
So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh; and they anointed David king over Israel.

בר תלתין שנין דוד כד מלך וארבעין שנין מלך:
mlk shnyn warbeyn mlk kd dwd shnyn thlthyn br
David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

בחברון מלך על דבית יהודה שבע שנין ושתא ירחין ובירושלם מלך תלתין ותלת שנין על כל ישראל ויהודה:
wyhwdh yshral kl el shnyn wthlth thlthyn mlk wbyrwshlm yrkhyn wshtha shnyn shbe yhwdh dbyth el mlk bkhbrwn
In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.

ואזל מלכא וגברוהי לירושלם לות יבוסאה יתבי ארעא ואמרו לדוד למימר לא תיעול הלכא אלהין באעדיותך חטאיא וחיביא דאמרין לא יעול דוד הלכא:
hlka dwd yewl la damryn wkhybya khTaya baedywthk alhyn hlka thyewl la lmymr ldwd wamrw area ythby ybwsah lwth lyrwshlm wgbrwhy mlka wazl
The king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, “The blind and the lame will keep you out of here,” thinking, “David can’t come in here.”

ואחד דוד ית חקרא דציון היא קרתא דדוד:
ddwd qrtha hya dtsywn khqra yth dwd wakhd
Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. This is David’s city.

ואמר דוד ביומא ההוא כל דיקטל יבוסאה וישרי למכבש כרכא וית חטאיא וית חיביא רחיקא נפשא דדוד על כן יימרון חטאיא וחיביא לא יעלון לביתא:
lbytha yelwn la wkhybya khTaya yymrwn kn el ddwd npsha rkhyqa khybya wyth khTaya wyth krka lmkbsh wyshry ybwsah dyqTl kl hhwa bywma dwd wamr
David said on that day, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him go up to the watercourse and strike those lame and blind, who are hated by David’s soul.” Therefore they say, “The blind and the lame can’t come into the house.”

ויתיב דוד בחקרא וקרא לה קרתא דדוד ובנא דוד סחור סחור מן מליתא ולגיו:
wlgyw mlytha mn skhwr skhwr dwd wbna ddwd qrtha lh wqra bkhqra dwd wythyb
David lived in the stronghold, and called it David’s city. David built around from Millo and inward.

ואזל דוד אזיל וסגי ומימרא דיי אלהא צבאות בסעדיה:
bsedyh tsbawth alha dyy wmymra wsgy azyl dwd wazl
David grew greater and greater, for Yahweh, the God of Armies, was with him.

ושלח חירם מלכא דצור אזגדין לות דוד ואעי ארזין ונגרין דאומנין למיקץ אעין ואבנין וארדיכלין דאומנין בבנין כותלין ובנו ביתא לדוד:
ldwd bytha wbnw kwthlyn bbnyn dawmnyn wardyklyn wabnyn aeyn lmyqts dawmnyn wngryn arzyn waey dwd lwth azgdyn dtswr mlka khyrm wshlkh
Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, with cedar trees, carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.

וידע דוד ארי אתקניה יי למהוי מלכא על ישראל וארי מנטלא מלכותיה בדיל עמיה ישראל:
yshral emyh bdyl mlkwthyh mnTla wary yshral el mlka lmhwy yy athqnyh ary dwd wyde
David perceived that Yahweh had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.

ונסיב דוד עוד לחינן ונשין מירושלם בתר דאתא מחברון ואתילידו עוד לדוד בנין ובנן:
wbnn bnyn ldwd ewd wathylydw mkhbrwn datha bthr myrwshlm wnshyn lkhynn ewd dwd wnsyb
David took more concubines and wives for himself out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and more sons and daughters were born to David.

ואלין שמהת דאתילידו ליה בירושלם שמוע ושובב ונתן ושלמה:
wshlmh wnthn wshwbb shmwe byrwshlm lyh dathylydw shmhth walyn
These are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

ושמעו פלשתאי ארי משחו ית דוד למהוי מלכא על ישראל וסליקו כל פלשתאי למבעי ית דוד ושמע דוד ונחת לחקרא:
lkhqra wnkhth dwd wshme dwd yth lmbey plshthay kl wslyqw yshral el mlka lmhwy dwd yth mshkhw ary plshthay wshmew
When the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David, but David heard about it and went down to the stronghold.

ופלשתאי אתו ואתרטישו במישר גבריא:
gbrya bmyshr wathrTyshw athw wplshthay
Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

ושאיל דוד במימרא דיי למימר האסק על פלשתאי התמסרינון בידי ואמר יי לדוד סק ארי ממסר אמסר ית פלשתאי בידך:
bydk plshthay yth amsr mmsr ary sq ldwd yy wamr bydy hthmsrynwn plshthay el hasq lmymr dyy bmymra dwd wshayl
David inquired of Yahweh, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” Yahweh said to David, “Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into your hand.”

ואתא דוד במישר פרצים ומחנון תמן דוד ואמר תבר יי ית בעלי דבבי קדמי כתבור מאן דחסף דמלי מיין על כן קרא שמיה דאתרא ההוא מישר פרצים:
prtsym myshr hhwa dathra shmyh qra kn el myyn dmly dkhsp man kthbwr qdmy dbby bely yth yy thbr wamr dwd thmn wmkhnwn prtsym bmyshr dwd watha
David came to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there. Then he said, “Yahweh has broken my enemies before me, like the breach of waters.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

ושבקו תמן ית טעותהון ואוקידינון דוד וגברוהי:
wgbrwhy dwd wawqydynwn Tewthhwn yth thmn wshbqw
They left their images there, and David and his men took them away.

ואוסיפו עוד פלשתאי למיסק ואיתרטישו במישר גיבריא:
gybrya bmyshr waythrTyshw lmysq plshthay ewd wawsypw
The Philistines came up yet again and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

ושאיל דוד במימרא דיי ואמר לא תיסק אסתחר לאחוריהון ותהך להון מקביל אילניא:
aylnya mqbyl lhwn wthhk lakhwryhwn asthkhr thysq la wamr dyy bmymra dwd wshayl
When David inquired of Yahweh, he said, “You shall not go up. Circle around behind them, and attack them in front of the mulberry trees.

ויהי כמישמעך ית קל צוחתא ברישי אילניא בכן תתקף ארי בכן נפיק מלאכא דיי לאצלחא קדמך למקטל במשרית פלשתאי:
plshthay bmshryth lmqTl qdmk latslkha dyy mlaka npyq bkn ary ththqp bkn aylnya bryshy tswkhtha ql yth kmyshmek wyhy
When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then stir yourself up; for then Yahweh has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”
